Writing and Ethanol

Two things on the agenda this night.

First, a query. In my previous post I provided a link to coverage of a speech geared towards the Bush Administration. Many points I noted, laughed at, filed into the back of my mind; and I leisurely reclined to enjoy the rest of the video...
But if you watched it all, you may have heard a point which was made...

...Do we all have a book idea in our heads?

Do we all believe we have this great idea for a bestseller which we allow to lie dormant in our heads? If you answered yes -- Then what is preventing you from writing it? The notion which was presented in that speech, simply fascinates me; and I would truly like to hear more - For those stories should presented. For myself, I know that I am far too much of a perfectionist for it to ever make it into someone else's hands to read. And that is my excuse.

Or am I simply far too much of an idealist? Or am I being elite?

Second point. Ethanol.

During this "fuel crisis", many seem to use the fuel shortage of the 1970's as an example. A warning.

Let me tell you this. On the average, vehicles now get the same amount of gas mileage per gallon they did then.
Are you shocked? Outraged? Disbelieving?
Do you drive an SUV?
Then you are a part of the reason for the absorbent gas prices in this country.

Let me go back to the 1970's here.
Brazil took the initiative and spent billions on alternative fuels.
Right now, if the world's oil dried up - Brazil would be self-sufficient because of the research and amount spent on Ethanol.

America - We're in the 1970's.
Enjoy your Expeditions and Hummers.
What you reap is what you sow.
