Wheeeee!

What an eventful month it has been! Birthday, vacation, rekindling old ties, promotion. I'm tired. Actually, I'm just kinda bored now being at home after so much being the social butterfly these last few weeks.

My last day at my old position was not as difficult as I thought it could be. However, I have always been the type to dread something to death long before it happens. I did get a little teary, but not really. I did not get one cake, but two! Neither of which I had a piece of. Oops. Well, I am not really a sweets eater. Anyway, the hardest part of that night was writing my farewell letter to everyone. It really wasn't so difficult leaving though, things have changed so much there - And not for the better.

I still have not been really able to jump into the development position yet. There is just so much to learn. It's been slow now, but we're waiting on artwork so I have not had very much hands on training yet. So I've moved some things around, fixed a few bugs and learned a bit of the programming I will need to know.
But today we did go to a Japanese steakhouse for lunch as a "welcome to the team" thing. That was great. When is free food not, though? ;)

[scowls] I had to spend an hour and a half at the DMV today to get my license renewed. Sheesh. Well, I won't have to do that again until 2011 now. God, that's scary - I'll be 35 then. Ungh.
Well, maybe my license picture will look better. I look like a sunburned fat boy in my current one. [laughs] Okay, no, I don't look like a boy - But my hairdresser did cut my hair pretty short this time... Anyway, I know I've gained some weight, but I certainly do not look like I weigh 115 in the picture. I think cameras add 10 pounds in the shoulders. :-P

Anyway, this is long. I do have a site or two to include though. I think the voting for the bridge name has ended though, I cannot find a link on the Colbert website. I found the Hungarian website; but I, of course, cannot read it.

The Colbert Report - Bridge Name Update [8-16-06]

So, feel free to also vote for your favorite "Kitler" on
Cats That Look Like Hitler I know one should not liken anyone or anything to Hitler, but this is just too funny. Kitlers. Hah!
If you think about it though, we do have Hitler to thank for the fact no one will ever have a mustache like him ever again. Charlie Chaplan, before Hitler's time, is the only other I can think of who wore one.
