The holidays were lazy and delicious. Sadly, they could have been even more delicious had I dined on Honeybaked Ham. "Honey-glazed" hams aren't the same thing. On New Years Eve we had fondue - Which we haven't done in probably 15 years. Then I watched the Bears lose to the feckin Green Bay Packers. Then fireworks in the driveway. :)
The kids thought the Hibachi restaurant we went to last night was the neatest thing. All concurred eel wasn't bad at all. Mom was first surprised at the amount of food you are given, but gradually she began looking annoyed as more things were piled on her plate (rice, noodles, veggies). Hehe.
Driving wasn't bad at all. About 11 hours each way. The miles flew by though because I purchased A Game of Thrones audiobook for my iPod. I've heard so much praise over this series - I really shouldn't have waited. This book is awesome. I'm halfway through the 32 total hours and I'm already planning on buying the other three books in the series. George R.R. Martin has great skill with words and individual character development in a world which has so much underlying strife. I say, even if you are not a huge fan of the fantasy genre, give this one a try.
Enough with all of that stuff, I've got some nags.
Whats up with this OurChart I've been hearing about?
Am I the only one who finds it interesting that: 1. AfterEllen forums are also down? 2. Sarah Warn posted sometime ago about changing the site's name?
An interesting coincidence?
In other news...
Pat Robertson claims God spoke to him and there will be a "mass killing" in late 2007. A scary notion indeed, but apparently he hasn't been very accurate with other predictions and visits from God.
On moms.
If I had a dollar for everytime my mom has ever said:
"Its good to wear around the house..."
On drivers who suck.
Really no complaints from my trip except the idiot blocking traffic for 20 miles by not passing a truck.
On the Internet.
I could never live with dial-up again; I'd rather have no Internet access to stave the aggravation.

You know, I've had my same sneaking suspicions about the AfterEllen Forums and OurChart launch. Is this a Superman/Clark Kent moment? I also thought it was weird that no one on the AE blog has made any mention of OurChart. That sort of thing is right in the wheelhouse for them... I though you might have some special insidery info, but alas no. Oh, and welcome back from the land of dial-up. It drove me crazy over the holidays, too.
Well, apparently our suspicions were unfounded. The new forums and AE site launched today and not a hint of OurChart... At least not yet... Hmmm.
