Insert A More Witty Title Here

Blogger.com must not like me anymore. Maybe I am just going crazy. I've tried to upload images from 3 computers and haven't been able to. I'll just have to add web images I guess. [scowls]

Anyway, going on with the previous story is sort of a moot point now, but I'd hate to disappoint my fans. Unfortunately, you will just have to settle for the short version.

Martin finished building the computer.

Being the nice guy he is, he decided he'd install some software, virus protection and stuff for me too. I think he just wanted to play around with the computer though really.

However, he neglected to address the RAID (Redundant array of independent discs) system and, thus, wiped the hard drive.
Martin was sort of sad. I was sad too. I had to watch my beautiful computer walk away from me.
But then, he was able to make use of the silly "Lan Party" tower carrying strap which came with my motherboard.

So, the next day my computer was sitting, all pretty, ready for me to take it home.
I figured it would take me about a half hour to set it up. Oh no. Couple hours. Biggest pain was the huge CRT monitor and how heavy the new PC is.
Okay, this is far too long. So here is the final result.

Yeah, I'm not a geek...

Anyway, I really hope my vacation home refreshes me and gives me the break I need from work. Now that I finally decided I would be willing to move up to Developer, I know my boss is going to try talking me into sticking it out as Trainer. It's not that I dislike it, not at all; however, it really will not pick up in scale for another 8 months. During that time it will be small-scale training and doing the same thing, on the side, I have been doing for almost 3 years.

Someone should really knock me in the head with a mallet for declining the Dev spot last year. Right decision, wrong decision - Probably the wrong one career-wise, the right one for personal reasons. It's also so sad how much the department has changed. Most of the fun people have left and I do not believe we will ever have that niche we once had.

I'm also running out of people to play practical jokes on. I'll have to improvise, I suppose.

Wow, your new computer looks hardcore. Damn. It could eat my laptop for breakfast.

On the photo thing, you are not alone in your photo loading headaches. I find Blogger will let you post a couple images, but then decide to quit posting them altogether. I have found, however, if you start a new post and insert an image into it, you can copy and past (in HTML mode) that info into your other post.

It is cumbersome, but it works when Blogger is being a pain in the ass. Which, sadly, is frequently.
