An Archaeological Vacation?

Recently a friend introduced me to the idea of a volunteer archaeology vacation and it is truly teasing me to go with it. Maybe not Europe, per se, but I'm sure there are opportunities within the U.S. - I live in an area where there's probably more opportunities then in other areas of the states. If nothing else, I would meet others with similar interests.

I need to get the nerve to go to Europe, or overseas for that matter, my list of 'must-see' places keeps increasing and increasing.
1. Greece
2. Visit all of (the sites) of 7 Wonders of the Ancient World.
*However, I don't think I will be visiting Iraq anytime soon; Babylon can wait
3. Italy
4. Petra
5. Israel / Masada
6. Finish all 50 states
7. New Zealand

That's enough for now.

On unrelated notes, Spring has arrived and the near-daily migraines have already started. [sighs] Its late enough, I should go to bed with this headache - But I know I'll just sleep until it's time for me to get ready for work anyway.
Well, my head is killing me so I'll see if I can find the Alieve.
